On Monday, March 20, Black Hills Energy will celebrate National Gas Utility Workers’ Day. This day will recognize Black Hills Energy employees who provide gas service safely and reliably to customers.
On March 20, 1937, an explosion occurred in a New London, Texas, school. This event led to the widespread odorization of natural gas and an increased emphasis on safety, which is critical for natural gas distribution. Ever since, these distribution employees have done their best to ensure that they deliver natural gas as cautiously as possible and March 20 is intended to recognize their efforts.
