It was the 6th annual Big West Arts Festival held over the weekend on the front lawn of Sheridan College. It was an art-goers delight as more than 60 artists had their work on display. Wendy Smith, Director of Marketing for the Northeast Community College District was on hand and couldn't have been more pleased.
A children's activity station, culinary delights, a welding rodeo, plus over 20 hours of live music, there was something for everyone. The multitude of genres of artwork included sculpture, jewelry, photography, ceramics, and both oil and watercolor painting.
Kathy Sigle is from Spearfish, S.D. This was her first time to display her work at the festival. Delighted with the reception she received from folks here she explains her work.
Sigle tells us what is disappearing from our western landscape.
All artwork has to go through a stringent selection process which begins in March of each year.
