This summer will be a very eventful one for a certain Sheridan County Sheriff's Deputy. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter explains.
Deputy Boot Hill has been chosen to represent Special Olympics Wyoming and the Law Enforcement Torch Run this summer, as he'll be traveling to Athens, Greece for the Special Olympics World Summer Games. Hill says that he was surprised when he learned of the news.
Hill will be overseas for approximately three weeks; however, he'll be seeing much more than Greece, as the Final Leg of the torch run will take him through plenty of other areas.
The 2011 Final Leg will begin with the Flame Lighting Ceremony in Athens, Greece on June 9th. Law enforcement and Special Olympic Athletes will carry the torch through various countries and communities before arriving back in Athens for the Opening Ceremonies June 25th. Hill said that this year's Law Enforcement Torch Run for the State Games that kicks off in Sheridan, will be extra special knowing that he will soon be representing Wyoming in another part of the world.
