This will be the first full school year with students in the new Tongue River High School. Just as that project was nearing completion, the District started construction on the other side of the county. The Big Horn Middle and High School is progressing a little behind schedule. District 1 Superintendent Sue Belish says the original plan was to reconstruct all three schools in phases.
The future of the Big Horn Elementary project will be totally dependent on the state budget.
The District hopes to get to a point this fall where the contractor can work continue to work inside throughout the winter. The plans call for students to be in the building in the fall of 2010.
