Sheridan County School District 1 has nearly doubled its Big Horn campus with purchase of 15 acres adjacent to the existing school complex.
The new campus now measures 31.2 acres and will better accommodate future growth.
District 1 Superintendent Marty Kobza talks about what the purchase will mean for the Big Horn
The state of Wyoming bought the L-shaped parcel of land from Jackson Creek Partners for just over $294,000. Kobza said the school district is starting to put up fences after closing purchase of the land earlier this month. He said the district will do more work in the spring and start adding amenities next summer.
