In light of last week's accidental shooting that landed an 11-year-old boy from Sheridan County in the hospital, we thought it would be a good time to speak with Sheridan County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Matheson, who's been a certified firearms instructor since 1992 through the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy.

Matheson said that as an instructor, there are a certain set of rules that he feels any firearm user should follow.

As we previously reported, charges aren't expected to be filed in regard to the shooting incident, as all signs point to an unintentional discharge from the .22 caliber rifle being dropped by one of the boys.
