Big Brothers Big Sisters Seeks Business Partnerships

Big Brothers Big Sisters Seeks Business Partnerships

January is National Mentoring Month, and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Sheridan is looking to grow its presence in the community.

Angela Wallace, BBBS outreach coordinator says Sheridan should be hearing more about them as the month progresses.

Wallace said the benefits of becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister are many and measurable. They see results that show in kids' behavior at school, decreased truancy, and better home and family relationships.

The main event they have scheduled for this month is an ice skating party on Saturday, January 28. Current and prospective volunteers and kids can come and skate for free. Also, in recognition of mentoring month, Classic Connections is donating 10 percent of its proceeds during the month of January to the local BBBS.

BBBS serves ages 5 to 16. To find out how to volunteer, if you have a child who you think would benefit from a mentor, or if you're a business looking to partner, email Wallace at angela@wyobbbs.com.
