The Sheridan Area Water Supply system, or SAWS, received three bids for the conventional upgrades to the Big Goose and Sheridan Water Treatment Plants. The low bid from Fletcher Construction of $4.2 million came in approximately $800,000 below the engineers estimate. SAWS Project Manager Dan Coughlin explains how the project is being funded.
Since the City of Sheridan will manage the project, the City Council will consider awarding the bid at their April 1st meeting. The upgrades to both treatment plants are to meet EPA requirements for the removal of cryptosporidium from the raw water supply.
