Buffalo High School's drama department will be performing “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder this weekend at the BHS Auditorium.
Drama Coach Nancy Tabb said the play was written by Pulitzer-Prize winning author Thornton Wilder, who had written humorous novels during the Great Depression that were criticized for their humor at such a sobering time, and he turned his attention to writing a drama and “Our Town” was the result.
Tabb explains more about the story.
She said the story is a true drama, not a tragedy, musical or comedy as the kids have performed before, and it really stretched their abilities as actors. She said she is proud of them for choosing the play.
The performances are at 7pm both Friday and Saturday nights. It is free to attend, but as always, donations will be accepted to help with the costs involved with the play.
