The Big Horn Mountain Coalition is comprised of county commissioners, municipal officials, economic development professionals and representatives from the private sector from Sheridan, Johnson, Big Horn and Washakie Counties. In 2008 the Coalition applied for economic assistance for its regional development program. One of the requirements by the Economic Development Administration to qualify for continuing assistance was the completion of a five year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, or CEDS.
Big Horn Mountain Coaltion President and Sheridan County Commissioner Mike Nickel explains what the CEDS document entails.
Nickel said that the CEDS document is a working document that can be changed and updated as the economic situation changes within the region. A draft of the CEDS is available for review by the public at the libraries in Sheridan, Buffalo, Worland and Basin. The public has 30 days to offer any comments or concerns on the document. If you would like to comment, you can contact Mike Nickel, Sheridan County Commission Office, 224 S. Main Street, Suite B1, Sheridan, WY 82801.
