This weekend's benefit for Buffalo's Cynda Robinson, who is fighting cancer, was a great success.
Live and silent auctions, donations, dinner, and live entertainment all contributed to raising more than $15,000 to help with the costs of treatment and other expenses.
Cynda Robinson said she was surprised and touched by the community's outpouring of generosity.
Robinson's friends put together the benefit, gathering donations for the auctions from private citizens and area businesses alike, and numerous volunteers from auctioneers to musicians to food servers to cleanup crews all donated their time to help with the cause.
Robinson, a single working mother of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, but insurance didn't cover all medical expenses, and due to her treatments, she has been unable to work for a number of months.
For those that were unable to attend the event, but would like to help, an account in Cynda's name has been set up at First National Bank of Buffalo.
