Sheridan Media received reports Friday morning that a bear was captured near Kendrick Park.

Police Sergeant Tom Henry with the Sheridan Police Department told Sheridan Media the bear was coaxed out of a heavily vegetated area by police and Game and Fish wardens before being tranquilized on the 800 Block of Victoria Street.

Game and Fish Wildlife Biologist Tim Thomas said the bear was probably confused.

Thomas said the bear was a young male who weighed about 150 pounds. He was released into the northern Big Horn Mountains Friday afternoon.
