Be Bear Aware on the BHNF

We've certainly heard from officials with the Bighorn National Forest Service this week regarding the Gilead Fire and fire safety on the mountain. BHNF Public Affairs Specialist Susie Douglas says that visitors to the National Forest also need to be bear aware.

Douglas said that aside from the dangers that bears pose to humans, having the animal become habituated to people usually ends up in the bears demise via euthanization by Game and Fish officials.
