The Buffalo Downtown Association (BDA) was recently named the “Wyoming Main Street Affiliate Community Of The Year,” and will be officially given the recognition at the Preserving Wyoming Conference in Pinedale May 18th and 19th.

The award was actually given to BDA Executive Director Marie Verger at a luncheon Tuesday in Buffalo.

Wyoming Main Street was in town for their quarterly meeting of the advisory board and contacted Verger to make an early announcement and give the award to the BDA while they were in Buffalo.

Mary Randolph, State Co-ordinator of Wyoming Main Street, explains what the decision was based on.

Verger, who received the award on behalf of the Buffalo Downtown Association, said the recognition feels great, considering not too long ago the group was foundering, trying to find an identity and some direction. They have come a long way since then, she said.
