'Battle On The Blacktop' Brings Many To Buffalo

This weekend the Johnson County Family YMCA will be hosting their annual street basketball tournament, the Battle On The Blacktop.
The event is co-sponsored by the Johnson County Tourism Association.

More than 70 teams are projected to enter with upwards of 350 players participating in the two-day tournament, and with family and friends along with the players, there should be quite a few people in town for the tournament, according to Tim Cahhal, Wellness and Program Director at the Johnson County Family YMCA.

itself.

The registration deadline has been moved back to today at noon, so contact the YMCA if you still need to register.

The tournament will take place this Friday and Saturday in the parking lot of the historic courthouse and in the street between it and the former Clear Creek School building.

Tournament Check-In is Friday from 1 to 7pm and the tournament itself kicks off Saturday at 8am.
