Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso has introduced legislation that aims to create energy sector jobs.
He joined fellow Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch, of Utah, in sponsoring the legislation that seeks to reduce government red tape and rules that they say restricts oil and gas development.
Their proposal incorporates several pieces of legislation passed by the GOP controlled U.S. House but have not been acted on in the Democrat controlled Senate.
Barrasso says the Obama administration's energy policies have strangled energy jobs with environmental and public lands regulations.
