Balkanese-Inspired Group Performs In Buffalo

Seattle, Washington-based Orkestar Zirconium, a Balkanese-inspired brass and drum ensemble, will be in Buffalo Friday and Saturday for performances and public workshops.

The events are being brought to Buffalo by Worlds Of Music.

The weekend will begin Friday with a talk and performance at the Buffalo Senior Center from 12:45 to 2pm.

Friday night there will be a “crowd plunge” from 7 to 9pm beginning at Up In Smoke and continuing to Clear Creek Brewing Company and then wrapping up at the Occidental Saloon.

Saturday they will present a workshop from 10:30am to noon and again from 1pm to 2:30pm at the Cowboy Carousel Center.
Players of all instruments and backgrounds and vocalists are welcome to attend.

Saturday night they will present a dance at the American Legion Club in Buffalo From 8 to 11pm, with the Fireants opening at 8 o'clock.

David Romtvedt, with the Worlds of Music, was a guest on Tuesday's Public Pulse Program. Host Kim Love asked him to describe the groups' style of music.

All of the weekend's events are free and the public is welcome to attend any or all of them.
