The Sheridan Civic Theatre Guild is gearing up to begin its 2010-2011 season, and while the first show is already cast and rehearsals soon underway, tonight folks have an opportunity to audition for the second play of the season. A spin-off of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, this show is called The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge, a comedy by Mark Brown. Director Anne Quick describes the plot.

Anne is holding auditions mid-August because she actually has a role in the first play. She explains how she came to pick this particular Christmas show to direct.

Auditions begin at 7 this evening at the Carriage House Theatre, behind the Trail End Mansion on Delphi Street in Sheridan. The first rehearsal will be October 25th, with performances the first three weekends in December.

A complete list of roles is as follows:

Scrooge
Judge Pearson
Bailiff
Solomon Rothschild, an attorney
Jacob Marley / Bob Cratchit
Fred / Christmas Future
Christmas Past / Fan / Belle
Mrs. Cratchit / Miss Wainwright / Mrs. Dilber / Translator
