The Missoula Children's Theatre will present their adaptation of King Arthur's Quest this Saturday, but auditions for local kids will be held Monday afternoon at Meadowlark Elementary School in Buffalo.
Upwards of 70 kids ages Kindergarten through high school are typically needed for the MCT productions, according to Colleen Donahue, with the Johnson County Arts and Humanities Council, who is sponsoring the production.
Auditions will be Monday afternoon at about 3:45. Donahue tells us more about the auditions.
Rehearsals will be roughly four hours per night leading up to the performances. The theatre company provides costumes, scenery and direction while the local community provides the venue, the kids and an accompanist.
There will be two free workshops for the young thespians to improve their technique and to learn more about mime provided by the troupe as well, Donahue said.
The JCAHC along with help from the Wyoming Arts Council brings the MCT to both Buffalo and Kaycee in alternating years. Next year's production will be in Kaycee.
Performances for this year's Missoula Children's Theatre presentation of King Arthur's Quest will be Friday, May 4 at 6:30 and then a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
Admission is free but donations will be accepted.
