Auction; Supper to Benefit Local Organizations

Auction; Supper to Benefit Local Organizations

There will be two benefits this week in Buffalo for those wanting to help some local organizations.

First, the Dan Carlat Memorial Scholarship Fund Auction will be this Thursday at the Occidental Saloon in Buffalo.

Co-organizer Lynn Young said the musicians at the Thursday night Occidental Jam started the scholarship fund, which is awarded to a local student that will go on to study music in college.

The auction will begin at 6 pm, and Young said it will all be for a good cause.

Larry Brannian will be the auctioneer and there will be both a live and a silent auction. Last year's $1,500 scholarship award went to Tyler Schank, who is majoring in music at Northwest College in Powell.

The second benefit is the Buffalo Senior Center's Pancake Supper Friday, January 21st. The supper is a fundraiser for the senior center. Activities Coordinator Sally Frost tells us what's on the menu

There will be entertainment provided by the musicians from the Occidental Jams.

The supper will run from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and Frost said everyone from the community is invited. The cost for the supper is just $5 per person.
