Johnson County Assessor Cindy Rogers brought more tax assessment issues to the attention of the commissioners at last week's meeting, and they agreed to fix the issues.
Anadarko Petroleum and one of their subsidiary companies, Lance Oil, had been overtaxed on some of their assessments from 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Rogers explains why and how they were overtaxed.
In 2010, Anadarko was overcharged and will receive a reduction in their current tax bill of $2,240.35 and Lance Oil will get a tax reduction of $2,878.64.
Both companies paid their taxes for 2008 and 2009, and will subsequently get refunds on the taxes they overpaid.
For 2009, Anadarko will receive a refund of $3,098.97 and Lance Oil will get $2,012.45.
For 2008, Anadarko will get a refund of $2,860.31 and Lance Oil will get $2,335.02.
The tax accounts for both companies are now complete and up-to-date, according to Rogers.
