Buffalo City Planner Zach Montgomery has filed the necessary paperwork with the State for funding of the proposed Sports Field Complex.
The “consensus funds” as they are called, are appropriations set aside by the state for projects like the one submitted by the city, the Town of Kaycee and Johnson County. Montgomery explains further.
If the three entities are approved for funding, of the allotted $477,383, Kaycee will get $10,362 for their lighting project with the remainder going to the sports fields project. The remaining $1.4 million needed to build the facility will come from surplus 1% money.
Montgomery said once the State Lands and Investments Board (SLIB) receives the application, they will review the request and contact him with problems or questions on the proposal.
The SLIB, he said, should make a decision on whether or not to fund the consensus projects by the 18th of December.
