Saturday, Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns sponsored a Women Build Day, inviting women to help build a home in our community.
Habitat “addresses the critical need for affordable housing by providing home ownership opportunities for Sheridan and Johnson County families in need.” Executive Director, Matt Davis, says women have a lot to bring to the table.
Nancy Marchase is the office assistant for Habitat. This was her first time helping build a house and her first task was installing windows.
But more than learning a new skill, Marchase savors the long-term rewards.
All Habitat homes are volunteer built and Habitat is currently building four new homes in Sheridan County and one in Johnson County.
