This is the first in a series looking at the hunting forecast for Northeast Wyoming. Today, we'll take a look at antelope hunting.

Our part of Wyoming has abundant herds of antelope and the outlook for bagging your pronghorn looks good. Warren Mischke, Sheridan Region Information Specialist for the Game and Fish does add this caution.

The antelope populations are at high levels, giving hunters plenty of opportunity this hunting season. Mischke says there's a bonus in many antelope areas.

But be sure and check the hunting regulations. Some folks will turn up their nose at the idea of eating antelope, but Mischke says it's all in the preparation.

While it is possible to find antelope on parcels of public land, hunters should expect other hunters there also. Tomorrow we'll take a look at deer hunting.
