The Antelope Butte Foundation submitted an application for a business committed grant in June through the Wyoming Business Council. While the state never approved the grant, ABF President Mark Weitz says that it was a good opportunity to get their foot in the door.
Weitz explains that they've just recently applied for a $1 million community facilities project grant.
The foundation also applied for a $25,000 planning grant to study summertime use of the ski area.
Weitz said that if the grants are approved, it will provide for the next step in re-opening Antelope Butte, which is fundraising. For more information on the Antelope Butte Foundation and their effort to re-open the slopes, click here.
