Most people will probably agree that it's been a long, cold winter this year and this weekend was no different with lots of snow and minus zero temperatures. Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott put her boots and mittens on, just to see what people were thinking about this Wyoming winter.
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of winter. I'm tired of the cold and I'm tired of all the snow. I was grocery shopping Saturday and pushing a loaded down shopping card through an unplowed parking lot...that's just plain ridiculous. It doesn't want to go and if you push it too hard, it tries to tip over.
But I got to wondering just what other folks thought about this wonderful Wyoming winter. Jamie Seaman owns the Burger Wagon. Do people really stand out in the cold waiting for a hamburger?
A girl's gotta do what she's gotta do to pay the bills.
Tim Loomis is the parts manager at a local snowmobile dealership. No doubt in his mind that winter has been good for business.
For the most part everyone I talked to were taking winter in stride and trying to keep an upbeat attitude, even in the cold. Dawn Smith was shoveling snow on Main Street.
She's right...Wyoming is beautiful, especially in the snow. Out of curiosity, I even asked the lady in the drive-thru at the bank what she thought. Listen to Ellen Compton.
Good point. Rob Milne says it's all about the water.
Now, I found Marty Eggum huddled up in a corner at the Dollar Store having a smoke. He sure looked cold.
Headed home with my groceries, I found our mail person, Ginger Wallace, at the mailboxes, just doing her job. She says this winter has been tough to get around in, but the people along the way have been wonderful.
Delivering mail for 20 years, she knows her job.
