An arraignment was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for a man charged with distributing heroin in the Sheridan area. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.
24-year-old Casey Garriffa pleaded “Not Guilty” to three felony charges; Possession With Intent to Deliver; Conspiracy to Deliver and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Heroin. District Court Judge John Fenn continued the $10,000 cash only bond and set a trial date for September 3rd of this year. Sheridan County Attorney Matt Redle said that the three felony charges would be combined.
Garriffa was arrested in Sheridan February 19 and was in possession of 7 grams of brown tar heroin. The arrest was made after an investigation by the Wyoming Northeast Enforcement Team. During that investigation, members of the enforcement team learned that Garriffa had been involved in bringing heroin to the Sheridan area from Oregon and was distributing the drug locally.
