Al Simpson Gets Hip On National Deficit

81-year-old former Wyoming senator, Al Simpson, is calling on America's youth to get psyched up about reducing the national debt, and he's not letting his age stop him from delivering a fresh message. The Senator has become the spokesman for an online campaign for young Americans to sign a pledge to urge national legislators to address federal budged deficits. In the video gone viral, Simpson humorously attempts to 'get real' on the issues.

As of this morning, Simpson's video has been viewed more than 50,000 times on YouTube. The video's companion website, www.thiscankicksback.org, provides suggestions for youth to get politically active and pressure lawmakers into coming up with a budget compromise.

The video also features outtakes of Simpson dancing to techno music, demonstrating moves he describes as “The Lasso” and “The Horseback.” The Billings Gazette speculates his dancing with what he refers to as a “bum knee” demonstrates his willingness to do whatever it takes for the cause.
