The City of Sheridan has taken over ownership of Linden Hill thanks to an agreement between the Child Development Center and the City that was approved by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. Due to liability concerns, the CDC had to put up a fence that made things a bit more dangerous for those sledding in the wintertime, as stopping before the fence was not always an option for sled heads traveling at a high rate of speed.
City Parks Director Chuck Carbert says that the transfer of ownership will allow the City to make the sled run safer.
Carbert indicated that if money is available in the future, they'd like to add some additional safety enhancements to Linden Hill.
Carbert said that in exchange for the property, the City will pave the CDC parking lots as part of their yearly rotomill and overlay program.
