Advice For Taxpayers As Filing Deadline Nears

Everyone's circumstances are different, but some tax advice is pertinent to most if not all of us, and Lori Goeke of Total Business Solutions in Buffalo gave some examples of things we should all be aware of as we file our tax returns in the next few weeks.
Some credits have gone away this year, such as the Work To Pay credits.
Divorced parents need to have form 8332 filled out and on file to determine who is claiming a child on their taxes.
With the state of the economy the last few years, Goeke said she has seen an increase in incidents that people need to be aware of when preparing their tax returns.
Most people, she said, can still do their own taxes, whether by themselves or with the help of software or on-line sites, but a lot more people would be better getting help from a certified tax preparer. She said the money will be well spent. Check around for the best deal for your circumstances.
Remember that this year's deadline for filing tax returns Tuesday, April 17th.
