Some Sheridan area residents have had a tough time communicating recently due to the loss of phone and Internet services. Advanced Communications Technology issued a news release stating that the problem was due to an apparent equipment failure. The outage began shortly after 11 am Monday.
The outage not only affected residential customers, but the regular phone lines for the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office and Sheridan Police Department were also not working for most of the day. Phone services were restored to the Police Department and Sheriff's Office at approximately 7:30 Monday night. 911 service was not affected by the outage.
