At one time, parts of Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota were being considered to form a state call “Absaroka.” It didn't happen, but in celebration of the rebellious spirit of the “state that never was,” the 4th annual Absaroka State Takeover Car Show was held Saturday at the Big Horn-Y, south of Sheridan.
A small assortment of pre-1965 traditional hot rods, motorbikes, and customs were on display, but what made the show fun was the 40 and 50's era dress and music. A step back in time, this was not your typical car show. Promoter Scott Stalick...
There was even a pin-up girl, Miss Absaroka Contest, in which the lady contestants had to dress and act the era. Mary Zemski won the honor.
Organizing an event like this isn't easy, but Stalick says the effort is well worth it.
Plans are to continue the event next year.
