“It’s boots and chaps; it’s cowboy hats; its spurs and latigo; it’s the ropes and the reins and the joy and the pain and they call the thing rodeo...” It was the 50th annual Sheridan College rodeo held this past weekend at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
This third college rodeo of the Central Rocky Mountain Region drew over 350 contestants from Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska representing fourteen colleges. Second-year Sheridan College rodeo coach Marc Gilkerson says it takes a lot of community support to put on this rodeo...and a lot of hay.
The twenty-nine Sheridan College rodeo team members are a dedicated, disciplined bunch of cowboys and cowgirls.
Not only the 50th Annual Sheridan College Rodeo, this rodeo marks the 20th anniversary of the Pat Hamilton Rodeo, a tribute to the one who worked so hard to get Sheridan College’s Rodeo program going.
