Saturday was a perfect day for a walk and 260 folks walked a mile and a half to raise support and awareness for suicide prevention. It was the 3rd annual “Out of the Darkness Community Walk.”
Mike Lamma, with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's national office in New York, was there to support the event, but also to make Sheridan an official member by presenting Sheridan's Chapter with a charter. He describes the event.
Over $25,000 was raised and new local president Malinda Fairbanks explains where the money goes.
