3 Dinosaur Fossils Found in NE Wyoming

The recent discovery of three Triceratops fossils in Wyoming could include the most complete skeleton of the three-horned dinosaur to date.

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports that the South Dakota-based Black Hills Institute of Geological Research and the Naturalis Biodiversity Center from the Netherlands are excavating the remains of the Triceratops.

They're also excavating the left foot and leg of a Tyrannosaurus rex.

The newspaper reports that only two relatively complete Triceratops skeletons had been found before the discovery of the Triceratops fossils last month near Newcastle, Wyo., just west of South Dakota's Black Hills.

Black Hills Institute president Pete Larson says the find in Wyoming presents an unprecedented opportunity to learn more about the plant eater.
