The Sheridan County Suicide Prevention Coalition is comprised of members from the community that include social workers, mental health professionals, school counselors and lay people who have lost loved ones to suicide. Coalition Chair Vanessa Hastings explains a little bit about the services they provide.
The Coalition will also be sponsoring the 2nd Annual Hope Walk Saturday, November 21st in Sheridan. The walk will begin that morning at 10 o'clock at the old Maverik Station on the corner of Main Street and Coffeen Avenue, and continue down Main to the Sheridan County Fulmer Library.
At the library, a broadcast featuring the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will offer support and resources for healing. The broadcast will feature a diverse panel of survivors and mental health professionals who will address the questions many survivors face: "Why? How can I cope? Where can I find support?"
