Sheridan High School students can be seen wearing pink Friday, along with others in the community, after students sold more than 500 t-shirts to raise more than $2,000 for the Welch Cancer Center.
SHS Marketing Teacher Kathleen Pilch says in just three days her class sold all 532 shirts to students, staff and others to wear on Bronc Pink Day, for a total of $2,015.50 raised.
They will give the money to the center via a big plastic check that's on display at SHS. Next year, Pilch says they want to sell even more.
Last year's total was $1,600. Welch Cancer Center employees, along with other hospital employees, are wearing the shirts today too.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and SHS partnered with Sheridan Memorial Hospital to make Bronc Pink Day a part of efforts to raise breast cancer awareness.
