2013 Fair Results Released

Bell Ward of Sheridan received the rosette and $200 cash prize Thursday from Sheridan Seed for the Champion Sheridan County Bred and Raised Market Swine at this year's Sheridan County Fair.

Ward dominated this year's swine show, picking up additional awards for Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Breeding Swine, Reserve Champion Market Swine, Champion Senior Swine Showman, Champion Weight Division I Market Swine, Champion Weight Division V Market Swine, and Reserve Champion Weight Division VI Market Swine.

Braden West showed this year's Grand Champion Market Swine, Number 602, which also took Championship honors in Weight Division VI Market Swine. West also was named Champion Junior Swine Showman, receiving a large rosette and belt buckle from the Cutler Lohof Memorial.

In other results from Thursday's show:

Gabrielle Koltiska was named 2013 Reserve Champion Senior Swine Showman.

Connor McKey was named Champion Intermediate Swine Showman. Emma Balstad took Reserve Champion Intermediate Showman.

William Albrecht was named Reserve Champion Junior Swine Showman.

Dalton Legerski showed the Champion Feeder Swine. Reserve Champion in that division went to Chaney Peterson.

Market Swine Weight Division I reserve championship went to Olivia Boley.

In Weight Division II, championship honors went to Elizabeth Anderson. Reserve championship was Aiden Vielhauer, who also showed the reserve champion swine in Weight Division III.

Weight Division III championship swine was shown by Ian Ostler.

The Weight Division IV Champion was shown by Wyatt Ankney. Tom Terry took Reserve Champion in that division, then showed the Champion swine in Weight Division VII.

Reserve Champion in Weight Division V went to David Britton's hog, and the Weight Division VII Reserve Champion award went to Austin Taylor.

In Thursday's trail horse class at 1 p.m., Payton Gibson took championship honors in the Senior division, and Bailey McLean was reserve champion.

Intermediate trail class champion was Ellie Bard. Katelyn Kayser took reserve honors.

The Junior trail class champion was Mariah McFaul, and Lainey Konetzki received the reserve champion's rosette.

In the Static (Exhibit Hall) awards presented Wednesday even in pre-fair activities, overall winners and reserve winners were:

Animal Science Exhibit – Tara Stimpson, overall; Cody Baker, reserve overall.

Arts & Crafts – Katelyn Kayser, overall; Hannah Johnston, reserve overall.

Family & Consumer Science Exhibit – Heidi Henderson, overall; Ellie Bard, reserve.

FFA Exhibit – Bryce Burnell, overall; Molly Ligocki, reserve.

Natural Resource Science Exhibit – Grace Harper; Tyra Relaford, reserve.

Outdoor Recreation – Brayton Ankney; Tyra Araas, reserve.

Youth in Leadership – Justin Hope; Gabrielle Koltiska, reserve.

Science Engineering & Technology – Cade Relaford; Garrett Ostler, reserve.

Results of the fashion show, also held Wednesday evening, are still being tabulated.
