The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce announced via a news release that they've issued almost $60,000 in “Chamber Bucks” gift certificates in 2013. Chamber C-E-O Dixie Johnson stated that all the dollars remain local and turn over multiple times in the community.
The Chamber's goal for 2013 was $50,000, which was surpassed by over $9,000. The numbers reflect a 27 percent increase from 2012 and a 75 percent increase over 2011. Johnson added that the holidays, as expected, were the busiest time of the year for purchases of Chamber Bucks, as over $25,000 of the 2013 total was issued between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
