“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” at the WYO Theatre in Sheridan had a tremendous opening last weekend, grossing $40,000 from the silent and live auctions, plus ticket sales to the production.
Tonight through Sunday, the general public has an opportunity to take in this fast-paced satirical musical that skewers big business and all it holds sacred.
Playing the lead role of J. Pierpont Finch is Ryan Koltiska, a bright and ambitious young window washer who wants to rise to the top with some special assistance.
Leon Schatz is Finch’s nemesis, Bud Frump, who also has a desire to excel at his job, and also without trying too hard.
The cast is made up entirely of local talent, with stage direction by Marva Craft, and musical direction by Kathy McNickle leading a pit orchestra of nine local musicians.
Tickets are going fast, but there are seats available for all four performances. Showtime tonight, Friday and Saturday is 7:30 pm, with the closing matinee at 2 pm Sunday afternoon. Cost for adults is $20; $18 for seniors and military; $11 for students and $9 for children 12 and under.
