In what was a little lighter story from 2011, you might remember those guys who were stuck at the KOA.
That YouTube video brought national attention in September to two tourists from Florida who had some serious car problems – engine failure – but were then pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of support they received from the Sheridan community. They talked to Sheridan Media on September 15, explaining their situation in the laundromat of the KOA while folding clothes.
Armed with an iPad, while they were here the two did commercials for Fremont Motors and visited several of the tourist sites that were within walking distance. They maximized the apparent potential of the message-board, viral internet world we live in, accepting donations from people across the country via internet while they spent more than a month at the KOA. The two even got to stay the night at Senator Bruce Burns' house. They eventually raised enough money to make it back home. View the video and story here on our website search: “Stuck at the KOA”.
