This year, over 2,000 faith communities around the country will be participating in a CROP Hunger Walk event, and Sheridan will be hosting one on Sunday, October 3rd.
CROP Hunger Walk is an annual event which combines fun and fundraising to raise money for hungry people throughout the world. Walkers invite friends to sponsor them with a contribution of $5, $10, $20 or more. Spokesperson for the Sheridan CROP Walk, Angie Gilbert says that hunger occurs everywhere, even in America, the richest country in the world.
CROP Walk is a trusted charitable organization that has helped impoverished communities, as well as communities struck by disasters, such as the earthquake in Haiti this past January. But even though donations are shared on a global level, a percentage does stay here, says Gilbert.
First Christian Church in Sheridan is the sponsoring church for Sheridan's event, which will take place beginning at 2 p.m., rain or shine, October 3rd. If you want to participate in the 2010 CROP Walk, click here: http://www.churchworldservice.or...
