20-Year-Old Sheridan Woman Dies In One-Vehicle Accident

A one-vehicle accident resulted in the death of 20-year-old Sarah L. Nixon of Sheridan on Friday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, after she apparently fell asleep at the wheel while southbound on I-25 just north of Kaycee.

Nixon was driving a 1993 Isuzu and was wearing a seat belt.

Seargent Stephen Townsend explains the events of the crash.

According to a media release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, once the vehicle came to rest on its top, the roof collapsed causing Nixon to be trapped in the vehicle. Nixon was removed from the vehicle and transported to Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Buffalo where she died at approximately 11 pm.

Trooper investigation concluded that she may have fallen asleep while driving.
