2 Dozen Area Athletes Attend Fall Special Olympics Tourney

About two dozen Sheridan-area athletes are participating in the fall Special Olympics tournament Thursday and Friday in Casper.

RENEW/Sheridan's Jeannie Ellinger is competing and emceeing at the event for the fifth consecutive year. She commented on the experience of being emcee for more than 650 contestants during the kickoff event Wednesday night at the Natrona County Fairgrounds

Ellinger also participates in the bowling competition. RENEW PR Director Ace Young talked to Ellinger on Thursday morning before the games.

The two-day fall tournament is the largest yearly state Special Olympics gathering, with events including cycling, soccer and horseback riding. Events also take place in Glenrock.
