Officials with the Wyoming Department of Transportation have announced that U.S. 14A west of Burgess Junction is now open for the summer. WYDOT Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell says that they were hoping to have it open several weeks ago.

WYDOT typically closes the 22-mile stretch of road in the Big Horns in the fall at the end of the hunting season due to safety reasons. Last year, 14A didn't open for the summer until early June due to the amount of snow on the mountain.
