Tonight, Volunteers of America will be holding the 2nd Annual “I Choose to Live” fundraiser. Mark Robertson is the Clinical Director of the VOA's Life House.
Robertson says that while it is a fundraiser, more than anything tomorrow's gathering is a celebration of the clients who have made great strides in turning their lives around through treatment. One of those clients is “Joe,” who describes what it was like to participate in the festivities last year.
The “Choose to Live” event begins at 6 o'clock Saturday evening, and will be held at the Sheridan Senior Center. Catering for a Cause will provide food, singer Julie Scewz will entertain, and local band, Gumby Brown & the Nifty Critters, will play music for those who love to dance. Admission at the door for adults is $10; children get in for $5.
