Hundreds gathered Sunday beneath some old cottonwoods at the family homestead on Higby Road to help an old friend. Jon Quarterman recently lost his home to fire and the community showed up to lend a hand.
Some likened it to a mini “Woodstock,” as 15 different bands played the night away, all as a fundraiser for Quarterman, who owns Q-Man Music. Roy Pack helped organize the event and he says it's payback time.
Q-Man, a soft spoken man with incredible talent, was surprised by the turnout.
Well over $8000 was raised to help Quarterman rebuild. Plans are to make this music fest an annual event.
