Yes, switching stations...definitely prefer Dave Wooten in the morning.
I started listening to 104.9

I started listening to 104.9 still supporting Sheridan Media but I have given the new lady plenty of time and I just don't like it! Doesn't keep my intrest and pretty much annoys the crap out of me!
Dave

Boy, I miss hearing Dave in the morning. His show always made me laugh and I loved starting the day that way. I always enjoyed his relationships with his co-hosts, the laughter and commentary. My family and I gave more and attended more due to his information and participation. He was good to my son who would call in and is considered a friend to my family, as he is to many adults AND kids in this community. He is a hard act to follow, in my opinion. I know he will have great success in all that he does. Good for Big Brothers Big Sisters!
Hang in there Mary. It will take some time to get to know you. Glad you are from Wyoming! You will become "one of the crew" before you know it!
Mari is horrible
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 03/02/2010 - 18:08.
I have listened to KYTI morning show for years, not anymore. Mari has a very annoying voice and over stresses every other sylable. I kept waiting for Dave to return, just thinking that Mari was a fill in while he was out. Poor choice Sheridan Media! She is horrible! Even worse that there wasn't any mention of Dave being gone permanently.
Kim Love not listening to his own stations
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 02/25/2010 - 11:19.
It is obvious that Kim Love doesn't listen to his own radio stations. If he did Russ Davidson would have been taken off the air years ago. And would someone tell Bob Grammens and the crew to stop laughing about stories and comments that aren't funny. As for the debacle that is now the Coyote morning show, it is finger nails on a chalkboard. Dave, I don't know that happened, but PLEASE come back! I can't afford satellite radio!
I say good riddance.Dave

I say good riddance.Dave might of seemed like a good caring down to earth person on the air but in person I have never met anybody as arrogant and with as much as an inflated ego as. Why do you all think he couldn't keep a co-host? I find it really funny that his fiance is posting such negative comments - yeah that should be helpful in getting him a good report when he goes to apply for new jobs, good thinking. Give Mary a chance - nobody likes when their routine changes but it's not fair to judge someone after 3 days.
I can't say as I'm a friend

I can't say as I'm a friend of Dave's, but I do run into him from time to time and he's always been friendly to me. Which makes me wonder about your comment. I saw him hosting the dog and cat shelter benefit this past weekend. I read recently in the paper that he works part-time for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and he helped raise a heck of a lot of pennies last year for Relay for Life. Seems to me he's doing a lot of good things for someone who you say is so arrogant. Outside of Mary Jo, I never hear or see anyone else from Sheridan Media hosting events around town. Have to say, Dave, I'm going to miss you in the morning. But I look forward to running into you around town.

To my knowledge he is not hosting any other station. He has been working part time for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Any other questions about Dave's personal life would need to be answered by him.

It's to bad that I won't be hearing Dave's crazy remarks and jokes in the morning, but whatever he decided to do I wish him luck and all the best. I'll give Mary a chance - change is good.

I WAS JUST AS SURPRISED AS ANYONE, BUT DO YOU REMEMBER KURT, WHO WAS THE RADIO HOST BEFORE DAVE? I THOUGHT HE WAS THE BEST, AND HE LEFT JUST AS SUDDENLY AS DAVE. I RAN INTO KURT, LATER, AND HE EXPLAINED A LITTLE, AND I UNDERSTOOD. I'M SURE DAVE HAS HIS REASONS, SO JUST LET IT GO. LET'S JUST GIVE THE GIRL A CHANCE, BESIDES, IS THIS RADIO STATION, THE ONLY THING SHERIDAN HAS TO LIVE FOR, GEEZE!

So Dave left of his own free will, why then did he not tell those of us who listen to the am station on the way to work. It would have been nice for him to say he was leaving and what his plans for the future are.

I spoke to Dave today about that very subject. He did not have the opportunity to say his goodbyes because they told him to leave as soon as he gave his notice. he fully intended to let everyone know he was leaving, as he does care and appreciate all who listened. He actually did not want or plan to give his notice however he found his job posted on the internet the weekend before.

I too will miss Dave. I loved his morning show and he always kept me entertained. To be honest I haven't really listened to 93.7 since he was gone, and I never listened when he was out for vacation. It was just boring. I will give mary a chance though, she could prove to be entertaining as well! But we are very sad to see Dave go.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 11:05.
I am sure this Mary lady will do a nice job, but no one knows anything about her, and personally the few min. I have listened to her I decided I would rather hear her on a pop station not a country station. People may end up liking her but as of now, no one wanted change, no expected change, and until they like what she does it isn't going to be a good response... maybe something should have been announced about it instead of just changing it and waiting to see how long it would take people to complain! One easy way about it is maybe for this Mary lady to take sometime on a morning show to tell a little bit about her self. People like to listen to people they know about or can relate to. Maybe she has already done this... I wouldn't know I have not listened to it since Dave left except for a few min.

Just a comment - the new girl is terrible and I know of a lot of people who don't like her.
Also the reception for 105.9 is terrible inside buildings!
Reception of Oldies 105.9
Submitted by Steve Sisson on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 10:43.
Reception of Oldies 105.9 inside buildings:
105.9 is an analog FM translator of the HD-2 channel on 94.9. The FCC limits the power on FM translators to 250 Watts. Depending on your location relative to the transmitter tower, reception of 105.9 inside buildings might be difficult. However, with an HD Radio receiver you also have the option of picking up 105.9's parent station, 94.9 HD-2. The power on this station is 750 Watts, which may be enough of a boost to take care of the problem.

I think it's hilarious that some of you are so upset about this. Yes, Dave did a good show - but it was his job. He had every right to leave when he wanted to just like you all do at your jobs. Get a life! I think it's funny that one of you is switching after 20 years - That's hilarious that you are switching since Dave is now gone - considering he only worked there for 4 years.

It's a bummer he's gone, I enjoyed listening to him and Kaci in the mornings. I listened more to hear them go back and forth with the punches as well as the people around the community calling in than I did for the music. Been a little different since Kaci left but him and Redneck still made a good show.
I was wondering what was going on when they went through interviewing for new co-hosts and it was suddenly dropped and started just having revolving co-hosts.
I've gone back to listening to KROE in the morning.
Kaci is going back to school
Submitted by Liz Kincaid on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 10:39.
Kaci is going back to school to finish her Physical Therapy degree, we all miss her up here at the station, but we are happy for her as well. Dave CHOSE to leave. No one forced him, it was his decision. Yes, we all miss him as well, but he made his choice. He has been in radio for many years and maybe he was just tired of it, maybe he is enjoying writing his books, maybe we will never know his true reasons. Just know that he is happy with the decision he made and give Mary a chance, she has many years of radio behind her as well, but it is hard to step into a new position in a new town without knowing your co-workers or the listening audience. What did everyone think of Dave after he took over from Kurt? I believe I remember hearing some of the same comments about him at that time.
As for the co-host, we were just trying to help Dave out till Mary could get her from her previous employment. There are just as many people who dislike Redneck and myself as there are people who liked us.
Enjoy Bob, Trevor and Mary Jo, they do a great job!
Don't get me wrong

...unlike some posters on this thread who are obviously displeased, I'm just stating its going to be different =D. I certainly wish both him and Kaci well in their futures.
I wouldn't wish the job of stepping in and trying to fill a spot, especially one left by someone popular like Dave upon anybody, even more so in this town. LOL Its like jumping into a pool of piranhas, people in this town don't like anybody messing with their routines and will eat you alive if you don't smell right.
I'm sure after Mary gets settled in she'll gain some followers. KROE has been my stand-by anyway, grew up listening to it every morning before school until switched over to KYTI when Kurt was doing the Sheridan Trivia thing (which was a huge hit in this family). Now just get to catch all of the trading post and listen to the weird news stories at the end of the 7 o'clock hour again!

I have now switched radio stations after 20 years of listening to the coyote. It isn't the same--but I will adjust to a new station, on the competitions network. Sorry! I wish Dave the best. He kept me on time in the mornings, he entertained me, and he told me what was going on. I didn't always agree with him, or like what he said, but I enjoyed listening to him.
The Coyote has only existed
Submitted by Steve Sisson on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 10:58.
The Coyote has only existed for a little over 12 years (it was 96.5 KWYO-FM when Kim Love bought it in the late 90s). Kurt Layher did the first local morning show on KYTI starting somewhere around 2002. Prior to that it was a satellite-delivered show. Dave started hosting the morning show on KYTI about four years ago.

I prefer to have political talk stay on political stations or programs. Dave was WAY out of line the last time I heard him on the air. Maybe I wasn't the only one he outraged that day!? Maybe others were moved to complain and not just stop listening to him!?

I know that I will no longer be listening to the coyote...he did great things for that station, and no one will be able to fill those shoes! Sheridan Media has no idea what they let get away.
I have a feeling that he is on to bigger and better things!!
