The Tongue River Lady Eagles soared over the cross-district rivals the Big Horn Lady Rams 67 to 42 in Dayton Friday evening. The two Sarah's - Sarah Rawlings and Sarah Nielsen set the tone for the evening by adding their jersey numbers of 10 and 20 respectively to come up with 30 points between them - 13 for Nielsen and 17 for Rawlings.

Big Horn Pep Band trombone player, Darien Gostas, blew his way into the New Year supporting the Lady Rams basketball team who blew away the competition last week and will meet their cross-district rivals, the Tongue River Lady Eagles in Dayton on Friday at 4:30 pm.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles won by 30 in the early game and Stephen Yellowtail scored 30 in the evening game as he led his team to a 52 to 44 victory over the Grizz from Rocky Mountain in Dayton Friday evening.

It was no contest as the Tongue River Lady Eagles beat the Lady Grizz of Rocky Mountain by 30-points - 51 to 21 in Dayton Friday afternoon. The Lady Eagles made it look easy and as this photo shows they did part of it with their eyes closed.

The Big Horn Lady Rams ran the table on Friday going 3 for 3 at noon and then again in the evening as they rolled over their cross-district rivals, the Lady Eagles from Tongue River 25-16, 25-23, and 25-17.

It took just three, but the Big Horn Lady Rams had a battle with the Burns Lady Broncs in the first game coming out on top 28 to 26 and then followed with 25 to 20 and 25 to 17 wins in round one action at Sheridan High School in the 2A East Regional Volleyball Tournament.

It took all five games for the 3rd ranked Big Horn Lady Rams to edge out the Tongue River Lady Eagles in Dayton on Thursday evening in cross-district volleyball action. After splitting the first two games (TR 25-17 & BH 25-15) TR came out on top in the third 26 to 24. But then Big Horn turned it up a notch and took the last two 25-20 and 15-11.

The 2011 All-State Honors are out and Sheridan County has four outstanding track athletes: Wyatt Mirich from Big Horn, Taylor Heaps and Hunter Vineyard from Tongue River and Taylor Kraft from Sheridan.
