Tongue River

The Wyoming Coaches Association has announced the Girls and Boys 2A Basketball Conference Teams and All-State Selections. On the All-State lists were Stephen Yellowtail, Sarah Nielson & Sarah Rawlings from Tongue River and Erica O'Dell from Big Horn.

On Friday night at home the Big Horn Rams showed that Rams can indeed fly and that they did over their cross-district rivals the Eagles from Tongue River. Big Horn's Connor McCafferty led all scores with 24 points helping his fellow Rams lead 16 to 11 after one, 37 to 27 at the half, 58 to 38 after three and 68 to 58 at the finish.

Friday evening down 49 to 48 with 10-seconds left Lady Ram #23 Mali Wright passes over the head of #24 Tara Stimpson to #15 Erica O'Dell in front of #20 Sarah Nielsen, O'Dell tries to get the ball to #5 Hanneah Puckett but #42 Tianne Main takes the ball away from Puckett, an elated Stimpson watches as Main, with the ball over her head, throws to Tiana Mitchell down the court.

Aliya, Carleigh, Mary and Hanna, shown here, and Hayle, Kaya, Kynlee, Chloe, Miah, Lilan, Bailey, & McKayla of the "Little Eagle Cheerleaders" invite you to come watch them cheer for the Eagles and Lady Eagles of Tongue River HIgh School. The girls range from 1st grade through the 5th grade.

Friday night in Dayton, Tongue River's #11 Stephen Yellowtail led the way with 30 points while #21 Tanner Dockery and #15 Matt Yellowtail followed with 16 and 10 respectively for 56 of the Eagles 70 points as they downed their cross-district rivals the Big Horn Rams. The Rams led by 4, 11 and 5 at the end of quarters 1, 2 and 3 but fell behind in the 4th.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles soared over the cross-district rivals the Big Horn Lady Rams 67 to 42 in Dayton Friday evening. The two Sarah's - Sarah Rawlings and Sarah Nielsen set the tone for the evening by adding their jersey numbers of 10 and 20 respectively to come up with 30 points between them - 13 for Nielsen and 17 for Rawlings.

Big Horn Pep Band trombone player, Darien Gostas, blew his way into the New Year supporting the Lady Rams basketball team who blew away the competition last week and will meet their cross-district rivals, the Tongue River Lady Eagles in Dayton on Friday at 4:30 pm.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles won by 30 in the early game and Stephen Yellowtail scored 30 in the evening game as he led his team to a 52 to 44 victory over the Grizz from Rocky Mountain in Dayton Friday evening.
