Sheridan Broncs

When the 2012 running of the Dan Hansen Invitational Track Meet ended Saturday afternoon these six local athletes stood at the top of the leader board in the Varsity Competition.

Near the 22:30 mark of the first half the Lady Broncs perfect season came to an end as Laramie Lady Plainsmen #21 Hailey Hamilton (partly hidden by Lady Plainsmen #12) made an unassisted goal past Sheridan's goalie #21 Bailey McLean. The Lady Broncs came alive in the second half making a series of attacks but were denied on each attempt and the scored end at 1-0.

When Senior Lady Broncs Sydney Waggener, Rickie Ryan and Hartley Stewart's high school soccer season is over the three will be moving on together to Northwest College in Powell where they will play for the Trappers.

As Mike Ibach, on the left, waves farewell it is time for Gale Smith to rise from the bench and take over the helm as the Sheridan Bronc Head Basketball Coach. Coach Smith has coached for 14-years in the district - the last six as assistant to Coach Ibach. For more see: http://www.sheridanmedia.com/spo...

Sheridan's Junior Michael Rotellini won big for Sheridan at the inaugural running of the "Gary Benson" Memorial Border War track meet on Tuesday afternoon at Homer Scott stadium. Michael took 1st in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:03.10 and followed that up with a 1st in the 1600 with a time of 4:35.28.

In overtime of Tuesday night's soccer match between the Sheridan Broncs and the Buffalo Bison this header by Sheridan's Jake Moore gets past Buffalo's goalie Neil Medders for what looked like a proper score to many. However Jake was called for reckless play and was given a yellow card. The goal was revoked and the game eventually ended in a 2-2 tie - thus preserving Buffalo's unbeaten season.

With less than 8-minutes to go in a windy and hard fought battle Sheridan's Senior Hunter Reece would not be denied as he drove toward the goal and kicked the ball past Buffalo's Junior Neil Medders for the first score of the game. It was not quite enough as Buffalo responded in kind with less than 3-minutes to go in the game. It was tied at one all at the end of 80-minutes.

Sheridan Senior Macey Reid appears to want to go north while Buffalo Freshman Bre Hepp wants to go south, with the ball lodged between them, in the early game of a double header between Sheridan and Buffalo on Scott Field Tuesday. It was the unbeaten, 8 & 0, Lady Broncs taking on the, 3 & 2, Lady Bison.
